Our Rent to Buy pathway is the ideal starting point. You can rent for up to five years while we help you take the steps necessary toward buying your home. At the end of the 5-year fixed term rental period, you’ll have the right to purchase the home – either buying it outright, or through our Shared Ownership programme.

This pathway is for whānau who:
1. Are first home buyers.
2. Have completed the Sorted Kainga Ora programme.
3. Seek long-term rentals that provide a clear pathway to home ownership.
4. Have manageable debt that can be paid off or significantly reduced within five years, being open to collaborative approaches and mutual support in your debt reduction journey.
5. Require additional support to achieve home ownership. This pathway is tailored for whānau who need guidance and support toward becoming a home owner.
6. Total household income before tax is less than $130,000 per year.
